Student Employment Opportunities
Student Employment Opportunities
If you are a student interested in finding out about local opportunities, please be sure to read the disclaimer before looking at the current openings that are advertised. Many area businesses advertise job opportunities with us at LSHS. They are posted on the Student Information board alongside the school store in the commons and also available in a binder which will be available to copy for your own records. We have added them to our website as a convenience and service to our students but in no way constitutes or implies endorsement or support of LSHS, the Career Center or Lakeville Area Public Schools.
If you are a business wishing to post an opening, you can email the information regarding your job opening(s) including detailed, relevant information like job description, minimum age requirement, etc. and send to Amy.Juaire@isd194.org. We are only able to print standard black ink on white paper, so if you want to share in color and/or have it printed on paper larger than 8-1/2x11" you will need to drop it off at our front desk or (snail) mail fliers with the posting(s). Sorry, but at this time, we do not currently offer any sort of job fair or places during lunch or anytime during the school day for employers to market their job opportunities to students in person.

Volunteer to Make a Difference
Local organizations offer a variety of opportunities to work, learn job and people skills and make a positive impact in our vibrant communities while having the potential to engage with others with similar interests. Volunteering shares your talents, develops new skills, expands resources and services, raises awareness of social needs, connects communities, and builds friendships. Whether you are looking for one-time, ongoing, project-based or seasonal; for individuals, families or groups (businesses, churches, civic organizations, schools, etc.) in person or remote from home, there is a role for you to contribute to making a difference in your community.

Prepare a Resume and Interviewing
Resumes are an important part to starting out the journey to looking for employment. Even if you have not worked before, any volunteer work or accomplishments in academics, etc. would be a good base for your resume to begin with. Use MCIS to gather this information along the way during your high school years to create the foundation for your resume. You might not realize how important those various accolades, awards, volunteer hours, babysitting duties, are until you go to apply for a job, college, or a scholarship opportunity.
To access MCIS and start keeping track of those things, select LOG IN with CLEVER on the sign-in page and then use the google option to use the same user name and password you do for logging into devices at LSHS or your school email. Please contact Julie Peterson in the Career Center for any assistance.
