College & Career Visitor Schedule
We have a variety of visitors for post-secondary options coming to LSHS every week! You can find the schedule on weekly student announcements, outside the Career & College Readiness Center one door down from the Media Center, on the Calendars page of the LSHS website or posted down below for your convenience.
Students interested in meeting with a representative for any of these half-hour visits can register SIGN-UP HERE. Please try to register at least one day prior to be sure we have space to accommodate all who are interested. We have sheets of questions and info to help plan your time, too. If you are unable to visit during the specified time frame, stop by the Career & College Readiness Center on the 3rd floor next to the Media Center before or after a visit. We can put you in touch with the admission rep, if desired, or provide materials left here for us.
Contact Amy.Juaire@isd194.org if you have any questions.
For College and Career Representatives:
We offer both in-person and virtual visits. Please use RepVisits to schedule a visit to meet with our Lakeville South students.

MCIS - Minnesota Career Information System
We highly recommend students use the Minnesota Career Information System (MCIS) for research into colleges and more! Students can use this system while in high school and even after graduation.
LSHS students are assigned a username and password for MCIS, but they can also use CLEVER to log in using the same username and password they use for their school devices. If you need help logging into MCIS, see Amy Juaire in the Career Center or email her at Amy.Juaire@isd194.org.
MCIS College Resource Tools
The “School Sort” is a great way to narrow down college choices based on specific criteria you enter in regard to your personal preferences. You can see all the information you might possibly want to know about the schools including:
- How many students applied?
- How many students were accepted?
- How many students were enrolled?
- Find out the average ACT scores of students
- Compare schools side by side
Think it might be too hard to pay for college? MCIS has a Financial Aid Sort tool to customize a search for scholarships. This tool is available to use every year, even after graduating from Lakeville South, as long as we continue to use MCIS.

Tuition Reciprocity
Minnesota has ongoing reciprocity agreements with Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, one institution in Iowa, and the Canadian province of Manitoba. The agreements reduce non-resident tuition prices and eliminate non-resident admissions barriers for residents of each state who attend a public institution in the other state.
Learn more about tuition reciprocity on the MN Office of Higher Education website.
Midwestern Student Exchange Program (MSEP)
Through the MSEP, public institutions agree to charge students no more than 150% of the in-state resident tuition rate for specific programs. Private institutions offer a 10% reduction on their tuition rates. You must be enrolling as a non-resident student at a participating MSEP campus to receive the discount. All enrollment decisions are made at the discretion of the receiving campus and the campus may exercise its right to limit participation or set specific admission requirements for MSEP.
Learn more about this program by visiting the MSEP website.
